StoryBoard Transitions

Detailed one
Transition one

My goal for this assignment was to create a storyboard by trying out different story transitions. While creating this storyboard I encountered some problems. One of the problems I encountered while creating my storyboard was trying to figure out the transitions I should use in the four panels that I created. My AHA! moment was when I could identify the transitions within my storyboard very easily. While creating this storyboard I looked into the McCloud readings. In this reading, I used the transitions from McCloud and related it to my pictures that I drew because in the pictures I used a couple of the transitions and they were subject to subject and action to action. What I would do differently is that if I had more time and resources in drawing my storyboards is that I would definitely think of a much better story that goes well with the transitions and how each storyboard will be different in a variety of colors so it would stand out more to many people. With the  different effects of colors. In the fourth, storyboard picture there is a depiction of one guy and he is trying to figure out how to blow the oil tank so the SUV starts starting up. The second storyboard is showing his friend that was nice enough and came to ask him what he is doing to his car and how he is going to get it to work again. The third storyboard is dictating how it is almost close to working but not quite yet but it will get there. Lastly, the photo is that the friend wants him to help him move the car to a safer spot and that’s why he is pointing to the other side. The two nancy pictures I choose from where the Nancy by Olivia Jaimes for July 24, 2008 and Nancy by Olivia Jaimes for July 25, 2008.  What I learned from McCloud is that it is important for actions to take place in real time meaning that actions are louder than words. The three transitions talk about how subject-to-subject talks about the scene or idea. Also action to action shows how it is a single subject progressing meaning through a specific movements. The second to last transition that I used is movement-to-movement because it is showing the different degrees of closure and showing the basic movements occurring in these photos. The transition choices that I chose in all 3 of my comics affect the audience’s perception by the movement and the symbols that the audience will see because it is showing the movement of the person side by side and shows the effects of each picture. The emotions of the audience is showing the different scenes in each of the pictures and is also showing how the timing of each picture is relatively the same in each of the storyboard. I liked drawing these storyboards because you could draw any picture and come up with a good story for each of the boards.
